Smart Companies understand their customers pain points and show that they can help solve those problems.
They tend to do the following things:

- Become leaders in their community, whether its online or offline.
- They tend to offer free content online that can help or engage their customers, including an email opt-in newsletters.
- Share testimonials from happy clients.
